…DO NOT LIKE SALT!!!
I thought I was being creative and genius.
Turns out I was just being dumb.
The salt in the salt-lick went straight into the tree trunk and all the leaves shrivled up and turned brown within a day….
It took me another day or two to figure out what was causing the sudden death in my adorable Crape Myrtle tree (heck its been hearty enough to survive the goats so far lol), but as soon as I did I knocked that big ole block right to the ground and rolled it FAR from the tree… it has yet to be revived and I am completely heartbroken. My poor tree. Be advised, Crape Myrtle Trees do NOT like salt. If you happen to have a salt lick hanging around and are tempted to jam one into the trunk of your tree… DONT DO IT.
