Well Maxine finally did it!! I seriously began doubting anything was actually going to happen…While simultaneously panicking that maybe she would drop her baby..or babies while I was out of town because as we’ve seen from Minnie and Derby’s surprise arrival my goats like to deliver without me.
So anyway the DAY Finally came for us to pack our bags and head out of town. I let the goats out checked Maxine and she happily leaned in for another belly rub then resumed eating her breakfast. I walked back up to the house disappointed that she hadn’t produced at least One Baby for me before I had to leave. We loaded up the car, got the kids buckled in and as we were saying our goodbyes I heard yelling….a baby yelling.
I thought it was Derby bUT it sounded different…I panicked thinking maybe he’d got himself stuck and was choking! But as I got closer I saw him standing there just staring inside the covered shelter and that’s when I knew Maxine was having a Baby!!!
TWO BABIES IN FACT!!!!!
Two bouncing Baby Boys with adorable markings and such sweet fuzzy little bodies!
They are adjusting to nursing with a mama FULL of milk and getting a little assistance from my kick ass house sitter / cousin who is so willing and eager to bottle feed if need be! I am SO anxious to get home and snuggle them!!
